E is for... Erik's ennui. Since the IF topic segues so nicely into the title of my blog, a little self portrait (sans glasses) seems only appropriate. A final penguin tribute to the dearly departed Sleep Fairy as well :)
I love this. It's the most brightly colored illustration of ennui I've ever seen:p I love the frame/window around him, and the colors of the sky. I can imagine a child getting bored enough to paint on a table top. Wait til mom gets home and sees what he's done to her countertop!
I like the feel of this. There is a sensitivity about the way he is holding the brush, maybe farther up the handle than an adult would, yet he has control.
This is really great for so many reasons - beautiful background, neat perspective, great concept, and I love the contrast of the his drawing with the rest of your painting. I can't believe that your blog name matches the theme this week. What are the odds?
Oh, this just tugs at me! I love the contrast with all the colors, beautifully blended. The shading is impressive, also. That penguin really pops! Great job.
Thanks you all! The comments are all super nice, but especially constructive and pointed this week as well. Always good to hear what is working well -- but don't be afraid to cast a few stones if you feel it's necessary :)

Everyone above pretty much summed it up for me. Like the little penguin dude too!
