Erik, I think this picture is incredible -- very pretty, but in a poignant rather than overly cheerful way. I am hardly ever moved by art, but I love this.

The simple experience of being under water - of being conscious and buoyant, but simultaneously anxious and hyper-aware of our need for oxygen - is what I was thinking about for this little piece. That, and all the talk of "junk shots"... As if this were some kind of game.
