Imagine what would happen if an ancient totem pole came to life...This is from a Sasquatch Books publication due out in April 2006 - A Totem Tale by Deb Vanasse.
I've been having lots of fun with the polar bear posts of late and will hopefully get in an "Imagine No. 2" posting over the coming weekend...
I LOVE this!!!! The idea is wonderful itself, and what a beautiful portrayal of these characters! Is this pastel?
ReplyDeleteNice Erik, I love the illos from the book. When does it come out? Seeing the process is great, not to mention the little "all nighter" cap you are wearing! HA!
ReplyDeleteThis is FUN! I have often thought of this happening, now you have brought the thought to life.
ReplyDeletefits the word perfectly!
ReplyDeleteI like the animals...
wooooowwwww....
ReplyDeletelove your work so much, Eric..
These critters have a lot of personality, and they still retain the stylistic look of Pacific Northwest native art. Nifty!
ReplyDeletegreat colors, great style, great composition! i like the eagle (left hand side, middle) and would love to see a book based just on him!

i love your work!
ReplyDeleteSuperb! :)The wings and patterns and colours are great. Can't wait to see your new work too!
ReplyDeleteThis is one of the most unusua and imaginative illos I've seen this week...it's outstanding in every way! Your work is so wonderful. I always enjoy visiting your blog. It's a special treat:>
ReplyDeleteThank you all very much! Everyone out there is waaay too kind.
ReplyDeleteHappy Holidays!
Very cool idea, and so well executed. Now I CAN imagine a totempole coming to life!
ReplyDeletethis is just beautiful. I'm a big fan of Inuit art, and you've managed to retain the stylistic qualities while combining them with natural moving animal bodies. So charming, sweet and fluid - especially considering how rigid and (let’s face it) scary these stylized creatures can look sometimes! Excellent work!
ReplyDeletewow, that is super cool. What a great idea! and well done, to boot!
ReplyDeleteThis is wonderful! The idea is so creative and the illustration is beautiful.
